Bad F***ing Day

December 8th, 2008 at 08:27 pm

Bad bad day today.

1st: Lost $10. I had $83, I gave $3 to BF, $15 to therapy, $5 at DnD, $9 to post office. I should have $51 left, but I have $41 left. Not making me happy.

2nd: In order to qualify for SSDI, I can't work for 5 months. At all. This includes me 4 hours a week at the Tarot Store. How the F*CK am I supposed to survive with NO INCOME for 5 months??? But here's the kicker: when I am approved for SSDI, I can work part time and earn up to $900 a month from a job. WTF??? So I may have to give up the tarot store, just when I am starting to build my own client base.

3rd: Holiday season. I like Christmas and Yule, but not the whol holiday season. I have seasonal depression, which means the short days and long nights makes me very depressed. Add to the the fact the I get depressed and feel alone (even with friends and family) during the holidays, and it gets even worse. Today is a Bah Humbug Day.

I am so sorry about your day. The whole Disability thing is strange. Doesn't make sense you can work after you are approved does it? I guess they want to discourage as many as they can to apply. I have a hard time with depression this time of the year too. I just told my girls on the way to school that there are 13 more days until the shortest day of the year and then we start to get our light back. This always helps me. I'll send positive thoughts your way.

I am so sorry about your work/SSDI situation. Doesn't make any sense to me at all. Take care of yourself! ((Hugs))

i know no one is supposed to suggest this, but i do it time from time if i go over my maximum hours at work and my boss needs a hand: can you work for cash?

I suffer from seasonal affective disorder. There are days in late fall and throughout winter that I cry at the drop of a hat. I'm now taking St. John's wart (mood enhancer). I hope your situation gets better!

The governmental bureaucracy baffles me. It's almost as if they deliberately create obstacles to dissuade people from applying for SSDI. What a bizarre regulation!

Try to keep positive, Koppur... I am praying for good things to come your way.

Does the store pay you on the books? Not an ethical situation - but it seems you only get paid if you do readings. Is there a way around this?

My mom had a hard time getting disability when she was alive. She had to hire an attorney to fight it and she finally got it. I don't understand why the government is eager to help out some people but then make it impossible for others to get the help they need.

I hope by now you have found your mising $10. I hate it when I lose money.

    Hang in there.

I'm so sorry to hear about your day. Hopefully you find the $10. The SSDI issue makes no sense. Try to stay positive. I hope you have a better rest of the week.

I don't understand the whole disability rules either. How could you possibly get by with no work at all?! Is it possible that you gave the post office a 20-dollar bill instead of a 10, and they gave you the wrong change? It couldn't hurt to call and ask them unless you're positive it didn't happen that way.

I think the holiday depression thing is quite common, but it could be the shorter days too. Hope you feel better soon.
