Wants vs Needs

May 28th, 2007 at 02:10 am

My digital camera is dead. It's kinda OK, as I've had it about 3 or 4 years, and electronics tend to burn out around me very quickly (my aura and such).

So, I have found a new one I want. Everything I want in a digital camera, plus a little more. Good price, too. On sale for $130 at Target. But I am trying so hard not to buy it.

I keep telling myself it's a want, not a need. But then part of me says, yes, but to continue to sell things on e-bay, a digital camera would be best. So, is it a want or a need?

Perhaps you should view it as a "wanted need"! Smile If you have the cash I would buy it now while it is on sale. With good pictures you could easily recoup the investment through ebay sales!

ditto: buy the camera and pay the house back with ebay sales until the money is replaced. least-wise, that's what i would do if i were in that position and had enough liquid cash available to have it be do-able.

The camera falls into my catagory of purchases that can MAKE you money.

My sewing machine is one for me. My camera assists, as does my PC. I would have to replace any part of this in order to continue with my little business.

I'd say go for the camera, then make it make the money back! Smile

I concur with the others ... It's a revenue generator, so if you are able to pay cash for it, if you are absolutely sure that the old camera is fried and doesn't just need new batteries or something, and if you've shopped around to be sure the Target price is the best around, then I say go for it.
