Shopping on Sunday

So yesterday, I went to the mall w/my best friend. I did awesome. I found a pair of shoes I have been drooling over for months now on clearance: $5!!! YES, only $5!! They were originally $69.99!!!!And the even better part is, they were buy on pair get one pair half off and my BF bought a pair. And since hers were more expensive, mine were half off! YUP!! FAB shoes for $2.50!! And since it was no-tax weekend in Mass, no tax! I was on cloud nine in my cool new shoes.

Then, we went into Bath & Body Works. They have a new pink grapefruit scent out that I love. So I bought a bottle of lotion and it was buy one, get one free! So I ended up with 2, for only $10.50 (again, no tax weekend), which really works out to $5.25 each.

So, into my $20 Challenge will go $2.50 for what I saved on the shoes. Nothing for the lotions, since I wasn't originally going to buy two.

$20 Challenge Total: $2.50

    You said that you "wasn't originally going to buy two," implying that you were planning on buying one. So, if you can afford it, you could put the $10.50 you saved on the second bottle of lotion into your challenge, or if not that much, maybe the $5.25. At least, that is what I would do. A little trick I also use is in regards to sales tax. Our state sales tax was recently reduced from 6% to 5% on food only. Whenever I buy food I pretend it's still at 6% and put the extra 1% into savings. I don't know what Mass sales tax normally is, but you could pretend you actually had to pay tax and put that corresponding amount into your challenge.
    What do you think?

    I think that is a great idea! I never really though of putting the savings tax I saved into the account. I will definatly figure that out and add it in! As for the lotion, I don't know. Since I was only going to buy one, I was still going to spend $10.50, which is what I spent. I only got the 2nd one cuz it was free. So in my head I didn't save anything, just got a nice bonus. Thanks so much for the ideas!! =)
