Fumming!!

December 14th, 2007 at 05:05 pm

I am so angry right now! I opened my CC statement and it said I had $114 in purchases! NO! I had $39.95 for my monthy WW fee. The rest was all interest! $75 in fricken interest! AND my interest is down almost 10% from what it used to be! No wonder I can never get ahead on this! I mean, I always knew it was ridiculousy high interest, but I guess it never sunk in b/c I was always using my card. But now that I use it for WW ONLY, it is really hitting me! Time to cancel that from my CC! No more purchases with the CC AT ALL!!!

This means that before I had a total of $139 paid off it, now it is down to $64!! And that is after paying $235 on it last month! God, that is disgusting the way they rip you off! Unless I can get a 0% interest or can afford to pay it off ASAP, no more CCs for me. I'm done with them!

Old ATTCC Balance: $3,360.12
Interest: $74.95
Monthly WW fee: $39.95
-----------------------------------
New ATTCC Balance: $3,435.07 Frown
$20/UF Payment 12/14: $100.00
-----------------------------------
New ATTCC Balance: $3,335.07

Paid off: $164.93

I agree, I finally paid mine off, now I pay in full each month and owe no interest!

Koppur, this isn't on topic, but I see at the left that you're getting close to your weight loss goal. May I ask how you're doing it?

    Congrats by the way!

Wow, I would close that account...how much is the interest? I had a card that jumped to 33% once and I paid them off ASAP and close the entire account.

    Good luck

I'm with you--I just found out my bank charged me $105 for making too many transfers from my savings account. I didn't know there was a limit! So I put $100 in today and I was going to be so pleased, but instead of getting ahead, I actually went down by $5.

But I'm trying to remember that my overall behavior is more important than the occasional rip-off from a financial institution. It's hard to let it go, though, since I've been working so hard on tracking every penny and reducing expenses wherever possible.

We'll both get past these setbacks and keep making progress!

Join the club, those things are bad news. Sometimes it takes a bad event to realize, but you will be much better off without them.

Ceejay the bank charged you for over the limit transfers? How many are you allowed for the month? And will it make a difference if you do it online vs the phone? that is cracy

FYI Everyone...there is a 6 transactions per month limit on withdrawals from savings account that are pre-authorized (which is any withdraw done without signing your name or entering a pin number).. and this is a FEDeral regulation, not a bank regulation. Once you pass the six, your financial institution has to either reject the transfer or charge a hefty fee. Otherwise, your bank is out of compliance. I wont go into too much detail, cept to say that checking accounts and savings accounts require different restrictions in the FEDs eyes....so dont blame the bank for this one...

You know Ray now that I think of it I am only allowed four withdrawls from the atm a month with out incurring a fee, but I transfer funds between accounts a lot and I was never charged for that.

Yeah Amber, that was my problem. I was switching money between checking and savings accounts quite a bit, turns out that's considered a withdrawal. Apparently I did it 13 times in one billing cycle (I've been using savings to keep bits of money for purchases and then transferring it to checking when I'm ready to make that purchase. Won't be doing that anymore! :-)

$75 in interest? OUCH!!! Phhffttt!! --- Incentive to work harder to pay it off, eh?
