Lost my job...

October 22nd, 2007 at 02:53 pm

I haven't been blogging this month b/c things have been kinda crappy.

I'm going through one of my depression phases, so I really just have no interest in anything and just don't care about anything right now.

I lost my job. Panic. Lots and lots of panic.

Family member passed away (great aunt) and although I was not close to her, makes methink of the family members I am close to passing away.

Thought money was tight before? HA! Now it's 2 adults with NO income trying to get by. Will apply for unemployment today, as well as assistance from the state in terms of utility breaks, food stamps, whatever I can get. Already looking for something new, but damn, it's depressing.

Trying to look on the bright side here: more time to finish my book, can do more freelance work, and I have a couple of tarot reading parties lined up. There is a bright side, right???

That's awful about your job! Do you take medication for your depression phases? Or have a good counselor/life coach that can help you as you go through it? Take care of yourself and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hi Jan. Yup, I take meds for my drepression; have been on them for years. Although they keep me an an even level, sometimes I still have bad days, and with everything going on, this has been one of them.

Thanks to everyone for the support! I knew you guys could make me feel a bit better!

Sorry to hear that, Koppur. I myself can't imagine a life without work, and more importantly, pay. I hope that things will brighten up soon!

You know that old saying about God closing one door and another will open? Well, get ready to receive your blessing. This is your season of waiting and the season of waiting is also your season of preparation. Good luck! Smile

Sorry to hear you've lost your job. The bright side is that you've gained time. You are doing all the right things - remember you've paid for the assistance you're about to receive. Use it; its what its there for.

Oh, Koppur, that just sucks. I'm so sorry.
You probably aren't in the mood for hearing "on the bright side" ... but when you think about it, with neither of you working and since you did not buy that condo, your options are wide open now. You could move someplace else ... try another type of work ... really, the sky's the limit. And, the hard work you have done paying down your debts and saving has put you in a much better position to weather this storm.

SCFR: you're right, the field is open. We are thinking of moving down to PA. For some reason it just appeals to us and we've been seeing things related to the state all week...subconscious? Or a littl push in the right direction? Smile
Thanks for making me feel better!!

Often times doors open when we least expect them. I can always look back and understand why things happened the way they did...if for nothing else than the lessons that I learned to prepare for the next hump in the road. Take it one day at a time and look for the opportunities. My very, very best wishes for a brighter day tomorrow.
