Vegas gets some change

August 6th, 2007 at 11:21 am

I liked Lucky Robin and Amber's ideas of adding a little bit when you can b/c it all adds up. So I added a little to Vegas today to bring the total up to a more rounded number.

Vegas Prev. Balance: $386.60
Small deposit: $4.40
---------------------------
New Vegas Total: $391.00

Next paycheck will be another $100 to finish replacing the $200 I needed to borrow, so that will put me at right about $500. Only $1500 left!

Spendings 8/2

August 3rd, 2007 at 11:38 am

Did good yeaterday. Left work early, a I'm still feeling sick and it's been 2 weeks. Went to the doctor. It's either IBS or an ulcer. Lovely. Spent $15 there for my co-pay. Luckily, my Dr. gave me a month of meds for the pain in free samples. I guess insurance doesn't cover this pill, and it's really expensive, so she just wants me on it for a month and had enough to help me out. Kickarse.

After that went home and just slept off and on the rest of the day. Ran to the grocery store last night. Had exactly $40.68 left in my checking accout but wanted to pick up some things for dinner that night, plus breakfast and lunch the next day, seeing as how payday was the next day and I was out of stuff. Spend $39.61. LOL Came home and finished the week with $1.07 in my accunt. LOL

Thank goodness today is payday!

Dr. Visit: $15
Groceries: $39.61
Total Spendings 8/2: $54.61

EF is in a sad state

August 3rd, 2007 at 11:32 am

I'm not really doing anything to add to my EF right now. I'm saving for Vegas and working on paying down the CC first. But I did get interest this month, so here's my new total:

Old EF total: $40.27
Interest earned: $.16
-----------------------
New EF total: $40.43

Had to steal from Vegas

August 3rd, 2007 at 11:30 am

Last week I got a medical bill in the mail that I just did not have the money to cover. It was due before my next paycheck and I didn't want to pay it late. (Side note, Dads says to me..Oh just pay it when you get the money...everyone pays their medical bills late!) So instead, I opted to withdraw $200 from the Vegas fund to pay it. I have repalces $100 of that with todays paycheck, and will repalce the other $100 with my next oaycheck in two weeks. So, updated Vegas fund:

Vegas Prev. Balance: $486.00
Withdrawl for bill: -$200
Deposit to payback withdrawl: $100
Interest earned in July: $.60
---------------------------
New Vegas Total: $386.60

The real cost of bottled water...

August 2nd, 2007 at 11:37 am

Driving home from work yesterday I was listening to a local radio station. The afternoon DJ has an "audio blog" that he reads from everyday around 5:30. Yesterdays rant was about buying bottled water.

Most of it was re: the chemicals and how it's not really any healthier for you, and how you're drinking water that wildlife has used for a toilet (lovely...).

But at the end he did make one point that just flabbergasted me:

In one year, someone who buys bottled water on a regular basis will spend about $1,400. In one year, someone who drinks tap water instead, will spend about $.49.

Good goddess!!!!!

All I can say is YAY for Brita!!!

Merry Lughnasadh

August 1st, 2007 at 07:11 pm

Merry Lughnasadh all! (Loo-nahs-zad). It's the first day of the harvest (in old times) and one of the 8 Major holidays in my religion (Wicca).

Here's hoping everyone has a fruitful year!

Blessed be!
